Believe In The You Of Today

Image
Hey Guys!! First off, how was your spring break? I hope you all enjoyed your time resting and working on your tans. Now, have you had your coffee and newspaper? Unwanted traffic? Loaded with assignments or a major project? Great. Welcome back. I want you to take these next few weeks like a grain of salt. Yes it's Sunday and tomorrow is the day we get back in the shop and set the tone for the week. We've learned how to rid ourselves of the Monday Blues . Today is no worse than tomorrow; better yet, it's as good as yesterday. This week will be a challenge, but you are always up for a challenge. Obstacles are how we polish our character and we want to be dynamic. One obstacle we haven't really acknowledge is the person you see every morning after washing your face. No, not your spouse, it's you. We are our greatest critic, and at times our own demise. Why? Because only you know exactly what you go through. Your daily battles don't always end with triumph.

Go Further Than Ever Before

Image
Hey Guys!! I hope you are having a great weekend. It's finally heating up. Time for buzzing bees to awaken the beauty beneath budding flowers under the warm rays of Spring. And if you're anything like me, it's also the time to hit the pool. Yesterday when I was swimming, I suddenly had a moment. Lately, I have been in a state of reflection about my career aspirations. My biggest question has been why on earth do I want to do something that know one I know has ever done before. And I know I am not alone here. There are plenty of us out there stepping in uncharted waters. Sometimes before we even know how to swim. But despite our initial knowledge, plunge into the waters head first and flow with the foreign current that immediately wraps us in familiarity. And no one else understand why. perhaps it's for our good or their lack of full support. That shouldn't matter. The only opinion that should weigh heavier that an anchor is your own. As you recall in our blo

Be Proud of Who You Are Now

Hey Guys!! Currently I am exhausted. In the past 24 hours, I have traveled to a new state, constructed a theatrical set with my crew thrice, attended two workshops, performed in a theatre competition, and celebrated with a little bubbly...maybe a bit more than a little. But, I deserved it, right? After all, my theatre and I have done amazing and I've positioned myself to continue developing as a literary artist. And as I sit here watching Disney's Hercules   in my hotel room, I find myself pondering something I've NEVER considered before. I've reflected on what we have discussed leading into 2018. Keep in mind our goals aren't only for tomorrow but for forever. I have worked to inspire and remind you of who you are and why you continue to be the brilliant, beautiful, and bold person you are, and why you should have the upmost confidence in your abilities as well as the motivation to validate your dedication to your dreams. Still, there is something we haven

I Hate my Haircut!!

Image
So I got a haircut. And no I don't like it, but it's symbolic of how I want to transition into my new life. A lot of things will be cut out of my life that I loved, but they may be toxic. When wanting to grow healthier hair, it's always necessary to get the 'big chop.' And it's hard. I'm currently in the remorse stage. But I'll get used to it. There's nothing better than getting comfortable in your own skin and living your best life with a healthy and solid foundation. P.S. Look out for my BIG BIG VIDEO TOMORROW!!! How to (Successfully) Brand Yourself

Hey guys!! Today's blog will be short (kinda) because I want you to read this article an awesome friend sent me. The article is very uplifting and motivated me to try something new. Sometimes it's hard to take someone's word for it when they are the only ones to back it up. Well today you'll get a taste of someone else's life and I hope that it'll secure any doubt you may have. And in addition to that, once a week I will post a message from an outside blogger so that you guys get the chance to hear other voices. This piece was written by Aerial Adams, an undergrad at Howard University. I read it and became inspired immediately. I'm not going to spoil it so, without further ado, click the link: Link Happy Sunday! -Vernell Allen CEO Expand Your Horizon
