Believe In The You Of Today

Hey Guys!!

First off, how was your spring break? I hope you all enjoyed your time resting and working on your tans.

Now, have you had your coffee and newspaper? Unwanted traffic? Loaded with assignments or a major project? Great.

Welcome back.

I want you to take these next few weeks like a grain of salt. Yes it's Sunday and tomorrow is the day we get back in the shop and set the tone for the week. We've learned how to rid ourselves of the Monday Blues. Today is no worse than tomorrow; better yet, it's as good as yesterday. This week will be a challenge, but you are always up for a challenge. Obstacles are how we polish our character and we want to be dynamic. One obstacle we haven't really acknowledge is the person you see every morning after washing your face. No, not your spouse, it's you. We are our greatest critic, and at times our own demise. Why? Because only you know exactly what you go through. Your daily battles don't always end with triumph. Sometimes we fight simply to live and fight another day. But we always fight. We fight for our goals, our family, and friends. We believe so much in those around us and the future people we will be that we neglect to uplift our present selves. Today's question is simple, and requires a simple answer (well, as simple as the other questions).

Ready?...

Do you have faith in yourself?

As I said a moment ago, we often believe in the person we will soon become. Someone we can't even see. That's because we have faith. We have faith because we believe in making a way out of no way. Because we know that we cannot enjoy the sun without the rain. I always exclaim that we have to go through hell to know what heaven feels like. Having faith in the future is great. It instills confidence and motivation, but it's even better to acknowledge the person grinding for those dreams on the daily. I understand how hard that may be. To be frank, at one point I didn't like myself. Sometimes we can't stand who we are because we try to wear the mask of our circumstances.

Stop that.

You are amazing. And not because of your resume or super cool talents. But because you are yourself. You have a passion that no one can take from you. You have suffered and lived. You are better now that you were before and you will continue to improve. Love yourself today because now matters. You can have all the charisma, confidence, support, and motivation in the world. But if that is not internalize and geared towards the you of today, it doesn't matter. As you go through your day, think of a time that you didn't have faith in your abilities and then how you got through it. If there is something that is keeping you from trusting yourself, it's time to face that. Change your narrative. You are not who you are because of who you will become, rather you are who you will become because of who you are.

Have faith.
