Another Mississippi Vagabond

A few weeks ago, I went to my first awards show as a Bison. It was great. I was able to see my future...kind of. As a student, I hope to one day have my work nominated for an award as was the case for my seniors in my field. It was amazing seeing what they could do and I feel that they'll succeed in their respected fields as long as they remain motivated and passionate. But the main show belonged to Author Jafa. He is an independent film maker and a graduate of Howard University. He has worked on number movies and music albums including Solange's. They made a video with snippets of his work and I was truly impressed. Afterwards, I dashed to meet him as I thought others might try to do, but no one else did. There lost. I talked to him and found out he also is from Mississippi. We converse more and I took a picture with him and got his contact information. I have yet to email him because I really don't know what to say. Hey, I'm Vern? That's just sad. I'm honestly trying to complete more of this screenplay I'm writing so that I can get his opinion on it. I'm sure it'll be terrible, but I have to start somewhere. Going to that awards show helped me understand my goals a lot more and gave me more inspiration to push forward with my dreams.

Hey Guys!! First off, how was your spring break? I hope you all enjoyed your time resting and working on your tans. Now, have you had your coffee and newspaper? Unwanted traffic? Loaded with assignments or a major project? Great. Welcome back. I want you to take these next few weeks like a grain of salt. Yes it's Sunday and tomorrow is the day we get back in the shop and set the tone for the week. We've learned how to rid ourselves of the Monday Blues . Today is no worse than tomorrow; better yet, it's as good as yesterday. This week will be a challenge, but you are always up for a challenge. Go Further Than Ever Before

Hey Guys!! I hope you are having a great weekend. It's finally heating up. Time for buzzing bees to awaken the beauty beneath budding flowers under the warm rays of Spring. And if you're anything like me, it's also the time to hit the pool. Yesterday when I was swimming, I suddenly had a moment. Lately, I have been in a state of reflection about my career aspirations. My biggest question has been why on earth do I want to do something that know one I know has ever done before. And I know I am not alone here. There are plenty of us out there stepping in uncharted waters. Sometimes before we even know how to swim. But despite our initial knowledge, plunge into the waters head first and flow with the foreign current that immediately wraps us in familiarity.
