Discovering Our Purpose
Hey Guys!!
How's your morning going? Mine has been pretty relaxed. Well not really. I haven't had my coffee or small breakfast so I don't feel the same energy I usually have, but I can't let that stop me. We've all had to skip meals before, right? As I make my way to the office, I can't help but think about those moments when we skip out on major opportunities. Before I moved back home, I had the chance to work in the film industry, my ultimate dream. The field I love most had opened it's doors ever so slightly, but enough for me to put my hand in the gap and see what it was like to be on set. But I said no. I had to say no.
Remember discussing patience and how it keeps us from getting ahead of ourselves? Sometimes we have to turn down good opportunities for great ones. And I love what I do now. I love blogging and inspiring you guys to chase your dreams. I love creating designs and making shirts and I want to continue doing this for a long time.
Now, we have been working on ourselves together for about a week. And in all this time, I haven't ask you guys the most important question. Mainly because it's one that none of us know the answer to until the answer hits us in the face. But I'm going to do it. And I want you to meditate on this for some time.
Ready?...
What is your purpose in making your dream a reality?
Take your time. And there is no wrong answer. But more than answering this mentally, I want you to write it down. This will come in handy in the near future. What is your purpose? It's probably the hardest question to answer, but it has the greatest impact on your life. Whatever your dream, remember that it isn't filled with hot air. And you're pursuit of it isn't only because you like it.
Purpose is always found within your words, actions, and silence. Have you ever seen someone out in public and immediately knew what they did for a living without having to ask? You should aim to live the same way or better. My goal in life is to work in the film industry as a writer and director, and expand my brand world wide. My purpose, however, is to inspire others to aspire. Be who you always wanted to be, your true self. There is no rule or law against that. Though there are obstacles, they aren't bigger than your goals. And the way I see it is they only two options:
Get out of the way.
Or get knocked down.

The difference in your ultimate goal and purpose is that your purpose lives no matter what you do. So I encourage you to find your purpose, give in to it, nurture it, and allow it to fester like weeds. It will make you a better you. So let's be proactive.
Have a great day!
