How To Be The Best You
Hey Guys!!
It's the first day of the week and unfortunately the last day of the weekend. I hope you guys got plenty of rest and found time to do the things you love. And if you didn't, what better day than today? That's how I feel about most opportunities in my life. Whenever I feel that I can't take on a challenge quite yet, I remind myself that I'll never be ready. Yeah, I prepare and practice over and over, but even curve balls have curve balls. The best way to prepare is to actually do it. And what better time than now?
Living in the past is always dangerous. We become stagnant and constantly yank goals accomplished or deficits suffered. While it is important to acknowledge our past, we have to continue to move forward. That's how we change the way we operate, make up for the failures, and progress the great things we do. Sometimes we view the present as stale. It's like loading a video with poor connection. If things don't happen as quick as we hoped then we lose the will to pursue it, or we think we need to look ahead towards the future. I like this idea except we don't know our future selves. We only know our past and present. Now I'm going to ask you a question. And today I want you to write your answer down. Read it out loud to yourself and be aware of how you feel as you do so.
Ready?..
When were you the best version of yourself?
You can take time away from the blog to answer this. I want you to really think about it. Now consider the energy surging through you when thinking of your best self. I want you to know the you can feel that way or better if you were your best self everyday. We should all be at our best at every moment. And that is hard, especially when life gets tough, we have insecurities, or lack confidence. I'm here to tell you that your best self is the person you see today in the mirror.
Why? Because you are here now. You've fought impossible battles. You've been take advantage of. You have lost what can't be replaced. That's tough. But you are still here. You still wake up every morning with the desire to evolve into the person you intimately want to be, and that is what makes you the best you. Remind yourself everyday that you are worth fighting for. That you are there for yourself. The objective of the writing exercise is for you to recall the feeling when you were at your best and understand that you can and will have that feeling again. Every moment spent towards improve who you are should bring that feeling back to you. Hold onto it.
You don't have to wait until you're more experienced to be the best version of yourself. A degree doesn't make you the best, neither does anything materialistic. What makes you the best is your passion for whatever you wish to accomplish in life. Don't wait for moments to happen. That only makes it easier for opportunities to pass by. Make moments count. What better time than now to do so?
Happy Sunday!
