Do You Want To Do This For The Rest Of Your Life?
Hey Guys!!
I hope you're having a wonderful morning so far. Got your coffee? Sausage, egg & cheese biscuit hold the egg? And let's not forget the endless list of objective to accomplish in a limited amount of time. You are a busy person, we all are. With responsibilities constantly tugging at our youth, sometimes we lose sight of why we do what we do. But I'm going to ask you to do something you don't have time to do. Don't worry, it'll only take a few moments. Ready? O.K.
Inhale...
Exhale...
Drown out all noise and ponder this: Do you want to do this for the rest of your life?
Take your time. If your answer is yes, great!! If not then make you should rethink your situation. Now, I know there are plenty of excuses of why you are doing something you don't want to do. You have a family; you didn't finish school or you're still in school; what you really want to do is too impractical; your ultimate dream is a thing of the past.
Nice try, but you're wrong and that's a good thing. The only thing that is stopping you from living your dream is you. Yes it's cheesy and annoying to hear, but it's true. Let that echo inside of you. You determine how your life's story will be told. You can allow your life to be overcome by unfortunate predicaments that forced you to settle for less. Or you can choose to snatch that pen up and write your narrative. There are parts of you that still hold onto things you wished to become when you were younger. Let those parts thrive. Let those child-like fantasies see the light of day. Prove to yourself that you are more that your circumstance. Curve ball are thrown all the time. For the better part of my life, I have lived in poverty. I have lived in houses without electricity or water, but I never allow that image of my reality to determine how my life would be sculpted. Sometimes our reality is a nightmare. Dreams of a better tomorrow are a safe haven. But they are also visions of what's to come when you work towards a positive goal. Why not do what it takes to make them come true?
I know you have to get back to work, but I want you to think about that question as you go on throughout your day. And find that answer unique to you. If you are not, then let's get to work on becoming who you want to be. Who the world needs you to be.
We don't make wishes to blow them away. Hold onto your dreams and expand your horizon.
